20

Hello all.

Just popping in today to share a LO I did for a sketch challenge for my LSS, A Pile of Scrap.

Here is the sketch:

And here's my take.

Supplies used: PP - Echo Park, flowers - Recollections, other - acrylic paint

That is my beautiful niece in the picture.  She turned 20 years old back in May which makes her 5 years older than I was when she was born.  Man does time ever fly.  Hard to believe she's a grown woman now!

Thanks for stopping by.

A couple of pages to share

Just a little giggle for you on this lovely Monday afternoon.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I just wanted to pop in quickly today to share a couple of pages with you.  One I worked on most of the weekend and finally got it to look how I wanted it to and the other one I managed to crank out in about 45 min today while H was napping and E was occupied with the iPad (his naptime treat).

Supplies used: PP - Studio Calico, Simple Stories, Chipboard clouds - Magenta, Sequins - Recollections, other - Acrylic paint

Apparently I'm in a rainbow page mood since this is the second rainbow themed page I've done in the last week or so.  I was lucky enough to capture this picture with my iPhone last month (thank goodness for the panorama feature).  I rarely get to see a full rainbow and this one was gorgeous!  I printed it off in 8x12 size at Costco and it's slightly blurry as it's a phone picture but still looks great.  I don't scrapbook big pics very often but I love the way this turned out.

Supplies used: PP and word stickers - MME, letter stickers - American Crafts, ribbon, crocheted flower, chipboard butterfly, pearls - Recollections, doily - Bo Bunny, other - Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal

I love doing girly pages and I tried to add as much girly stuff to this one as I could.  Soft colours are so pretty and I love the pink/yellow/teal combo.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.  Enjoy the rest of your Monday.

Hello friends

Hi there.  Remember me?  I've been neglecting this blog again but so much has been going on lately and we've been so busy that I haven't had time to think, let alone write a blog.  I haven't even had much time to scrapbook.  Shocking I know.

I have been scraping out little pockets of time when I can and managed to start and finish a layout in a couple of days.  I didn't even work with a sketch this time which usually doesn't end well for me but this time the page turned out great!  I love it and I know I say this every time, but I think this is my new favourite page of mine!

I think one of my favourite parts of this LO is that I didn't use any patterened paper on it, it's all washi tape!  I hoard washi tape so I had to force myself to actually use it and I am ashamed to admit that several of these tapes hadn't even been opened yet.

My other favourite part is the title.  I knew I wanted the word colour to stand out and I knew I wanted it to be multicoloured so I found a font I liked online, downloaded it, created a word art document, printed it off in outline, taped it to the back of my layout where I wanted the word to be, held it up to a window and traced it with a pencil, lined it in black pen and then filled it in with coloured pencils.  Did you catch all that?  I wish I'd thought to take some more pics to explain how I did it but its pretty straightforward.

I added the butterflies as an afterthought because I felt the page needed something more.  I love the way they look on it.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.  Enjoy the rest of your humpday!

Creative Scrappers Birthday Bash

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

We had a lazy weekend so I had plenty of time to play with paper.  I finished up some LO's I was working on and I also decided to create a LO for a contest they are having over at Creative Scrappers.  It was their birthday on Friday so they celebrated with a blog hop and a bunch of great LO sketches.  They are having a contest where if you submit a LO based off one of their birthday bash sketches, then you are entered into a contest to win a $50 gift card to your favourite scrapbook store!  How awesome is that?

I loved all the birthday bash sketches but one in particular worked perfectly for some photos I had sitting on my desk of Hubs and H.  I loved the design of the LO and while it was only for 2 photos, and I had three, I made it work.

Supplies used: Cardstock - Bazzill, PP - Echo Park, letter stickers - Pink Paislee, wood veneer stars - Studio Calico, mist - Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Pink

I love how this page turned out.  It even got Hubs approval!

Thanks for looking and before I go, I just wanted to throw it out there that Skrap n' Chat is having an online crop this weekend in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day.  It's a Wizard of Oz themed crop and it's going to be a blast.  The festivities run from May 1-4 and there will be plenty of games, LO challenges and as always lots of fun.  New members are always welcome so I hope you will join us for a weekend of fun!

SNC Blog Hop Winner and a page share

Good Monday morning!  I trust you all had a great weekend.

I just wanted to start off by thanking everyone who left a lovely comment on my blog hop post.  You are all very sweet.  To be fair, I used Random. org to pick a winner for me so without further ado congratulations go out to:

ANITA!!!!  Congratulations!!  I have your address already so I will send you out a little something ASAP :)

These blog hops are so much fun aren't they?  Thanks again to everyone who played along.

I also wanted to share a page with you today.  I'm so excited about how this page turned out as it was a long process.

It started when I got this crazy idea in my head to spray an entire sheet of cardstock in rainbow stripes of mist.  Then I decided I wanted to use doilies and sequins on my page as well and once I got the doilies and photos where I wanted them I had no idea what to do with the sequins.

I knew I wanted a big title and I couldn't find any Thickers that worked for me so I found a font that I liked online, printed my title out on regular printer paper and then traced it onto my page.  Then I went over it with my black Zig pen to make it pop.  Then I went back to deciding where to put the sequins.

And I stared at the page for three nights, moving the sequins around, changing the colours, taking some off, putting more on, etc., etc., etc.  On the fourth night, Hubs came downstairs and asked me what I was doing.  And I told him.  Then he reached over, moved a bunch of sequins around and said "How does this look?"  I swear I heard an angels chorus of "Hallelujah" for just a moment before I stared at him in disbelief and said "Are you freaking kidding me?!"  The way he placed them, exactly like you see them in the LO above, was perfect and he managed to do it all in 20 seconds while I struggled for three days!  Men!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

SNC Spring Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today some of the ladies over at Skrap n' Chat are excited to bring you our 2nd annual Blog Hop.  We're going to be sharing some fun projects with a Spring theme and we've got some great prizes to share as well.  It's going to be tons of fun! You may have just arrived from Stacy's blog but if not, make sure to head over to Karen's blog to start things off.

Things haven't been exactly Spring-like around these parts weather wise.  We had two big storms back to back last week and the snow is up to our necks out there.  But despite the snow outside, Spring is on its way and that means Easter is coming.  Easter isn't my favourite holiday and therefore I don't really have a lot of Easter decorations so I decided I wanted to make some Easter decor for my house.  I stumbled across a great idea on Pinterest to make washi tape canvas art so I ran with it.  I started out by cutting a template out of paper and taping it down to my canvas.  Then I just started laying strips of washi tape down.

Once I had them all in place I carefully cut around the shape with my scissors.  I do not have a picture of this because I am forgetful but go slowly as to not rip the washi.  I ripped the washi in a couple of places.  So to hide that, I decided to do a liquid pearls outline around the shape.

Then I decided to get real crazy and cover the entire shape with glossy accents.

After everything dried I added some Thickers and a sparkly button to finish off the canvas and voila:

I think this would look great propped up in a little easel somewhere.  Or I might attach something to the back so I can hang it up.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today's hop.  I had a lot of fun preparing my project for today and I think it's going to look really cute in our house.

And now for the fun part.  I have a little prize to give away to one lucky blog hop participant.  All you have to do is leave me a comment here on this blog post by Friday, April 11 at midnight AST for your chance to win.

And just in case you stumbled here out of order, here is a list of the other blogs who are participating.  If you're going in order, head on over to Robyn's blog, the last stop on the hop.

April  * YOU ARE HERE*

Make sure and leave a comment on everyone's posts for more chances to win some prizes.  Have a great day!

Life. Paper. Scrapbook. Issue 5

Happy Monday.  Well as happy as it can be when you're under a winter storm watch and you're on your second day of continuous freezing rain with no end in sight.

Just popping in very quickly to let you know the newest issue of Life. Paper. Scrapbook is out.  It's chock full of amazing inspiration as usual and I'm in the process of trying to pin a thousand LO's for future scraplifting.

You can find the issue here.

My friend and fellow SNC DT member, Karen, has a gorgeous LO on page 112 and yours truly has a LO on page 123.

Have a great day.
